Magma is used on a wide range of devices with different display sizes and resolutions. We have different layout options of the Editor UI to make sure that Magma is comfortable to use and that you can see your settings when you need them.
There are three different modes to choose from: Super Simple, Simple, and Full. To change between them, tap on the gear icon on the right side. Either this will be to the bottom right of your color wheel, or towards the bottom of the right toolbar if you are in Super Simple Mode.
Additionally, you can choose between Single-column and Two-column for your settings panel
If you are a device with a smaller screen, you may be automatically switched into Super Simple Mode or Two Column mode to make it easier to access your layers.
Super Simple Mode
This mode simplifies the UI quite a lot by grouping some tools in the left tool bar, and creating a second toolbar on the right for opening your color wheel, tool settings, and layers windows. Only one of these windows can be open at a time.
If you are on a touch device or mobile tablet and want to choose between grouped tools, like the brush and pixel pencil for example, then long-press on the tool.
You will know there are grouped tool by the triangle shape on the toolbar.
Simple Mode
In regular Simple mode, only the most basic settings are visible for each tool. If you cannot see the opacity or flow settings for your brush for example, then you are currently in Simple mode.
This mode allows for a bit more space for the brush list and layers panel in Single column view.
Full Mode
Choosing the Full mode will make all tools and settings visible which take up more space. All of the settings for the brush will be visible as well as the button for advanced settings.

Two columns
In Full mode, it can be difficult to view all of your settings and brushes and your various layers. For this we have Two column mode which shifts your layers into their own dedicated column.
If you want to partially hide only the layers panel, you can tap on the > icon to the bottom left of the color wheel. Tapping < will bring the panel back into full view. This can be used in Single column mode as well.
Changing the Color Selector
You have the option between a square or triangle color selector. You can change between them by tapping on the gear icon under the colour wheel and selecting the option you want.
