For your own mental wellbeing, sanity and safety, we also encourage you to take regular breaks to do things offline.

Use a strong password and two-factor authentication where possible.

Do not use your real name in your username or display name. You can change it here and if you are having trouble, or you can reach out to our support team for help.

If you use a shared device, do not save your login information and always log out when you finish your session. If you used Google, Twitter, Discord or LinkedIn as sign-in methods, make sure that you log out of these too.

We recommend, especially for younger users, that you do not share any personal identifying information. This includes things like your legal name, full date of birth, identification numbrs, your address, phone number, email address, etc.

Do not post face reveals and selfies. While this might be normal to do on other sites, we advise strong caution around this and we do our best to remove such content in public spaces.

Avoid dramas with other users. It's easy for things to get out of hand and harmful exchanges to take place. The best course of action is often to disengage, take a step back, and block users that you might be experiencing issues with.

Art is a great outlet to help process emotions and difficult experiences. But be cautious about telling strangers about what you are going through when you are feeling vulnerable.

In the case of cyberbullying, again make use of the blocking feature rather than engaging with the users.

Be cautious of message requests from unknown users. You do not have to accept message requests from strangers. Simply block them if they appear suspicious.

Check the profile of users before engaging.

Be cautious interacting with brand new accounts with no info or evidence of actually being an engaged Magma user.

Do not share any personal identifying information in public spaces or in chats with people that you do not know or have not met in person.

We generally caution against sharing pictures of yourself on the canvas or directly in chat, especially in public spaces like Art Jams and Artspaces.

If a user keeps getting banned, do not create accounts for them. This potentially exposes other accounts and information about yourself. You also run the risk of having your own account being suspended.

Our team bans accounts when we have a valid reason to do so. Sometimes the reason is due to actions that put other users at risk.

This not only puts them at risk, but yourself as well.

While Magma is a great place to meet people to draw with, it is not to be used as an e-dating platform. You often do not know who is on the other side talking to you and they may not be who they say they are. We will take swift action if we see this, and may in some cases restrict your account as additional safety measure.

When reporting, it's important to report the specific message, comment, or post. This can be much more helpful than just reporting the user's account. Look for the three dots next to a chat or comment to open a menu, then hit report and provide more details.

There are a few ways to block a user. If you receive a DM from them, tap the three dots in the top right of the chat window to find the Block option.

Alternatively, you can go to their profile and again find the three dots below their banner to open a menu with the block option.
