The erase behaves in a similar way to the brush. Instead of adding paint to your canvas though, it removes it. The erase has the same shapes and settings as those available for your brush tool.

The default hotkey for the eraser is E. You can also press and hold E to temporarily activate it while using another tool.

Your settings panel can be Simple, and Full mode. To switch between them, tap the gear icon under your colour wheel. Below if the view of the Full settings.

The settings for the eraser includes:

  • Size: makes the pencil tool bigger
    Tap the box next to the slider to make the size respond to pressure;

  • Minimum Size: while pressure for size is active, the pencil will not go smaller than this percentage of the max size;

  • Size Jitter: creates variation in the size of your pencil shape stamps. Higher value leads to higher variation;

  • Flow: formally the density setting. The controls the opacity of each stamp of the pencil shape. Tap the box next to the slider to make this setting respond to pressure;

  • Opacity: sets the opacity for each stroke of the brush or pencil. Lower value makes it more transparent;

  • Stabilizer: stabilizes your brush strokes;

  • Mode (brush or pencil): if set to pencil, the eraser shape will be a hard-edge square;

  • Tip shape: let's you change the shape of your eraser tool.
    Activating the box next to it will cause the angle of the shape to follow the direction of your pen stroke;

  • Hardness: this is only visible for the round brushes, and softens the edge of the brush.

Advanced Settings

The Open Advanced Brush Settings will open a window where you can customize your eraser to a much greater extent. Read more about this on our Brush page.

You can also save your eraser settings or use an existing saved brush as an eraser instead.

The settings can be better understood by viewing our Brush video guide
