As we explore monetization options for Magma, we are currently testing out ads on the platform for free users. This move also allows us to make more important drawing features available freely to everyone, rather than limiting the toolset.
This is a test and may change in the future. We are doing a phased rollout to look for issues and so not all users will see ads in the editor yet.
Ads placement - desktop vs mobile
Ads will display slightly differently on phones versus desktop. On your phone, the ads will be placed either at the bottom ot top of the screen. On desktop, you could also have them on either the left or right sides.

Moving ads position
You can adjust the ads position to be more suitable for display. On desktop, there are buttons below the ad. On mobile, they will be next to the ad.
I cannot see the position buttons
If the buttons are not appearing under the ad to reposition the panel, try adjusting your UI in the following ways:
Switch to Fullscreen Mode by selecting the option in the View menu or using F11;
Reduce your browser zoom to make the Magma UI smaller
Increasing your overall display resolution may also solve this and improve your Magma experience by freeing up more drawing area.
Disabling ads
There are a few ways to disable ads:
Subscribe to Blaze - this also unlocks other features which you can read more about here;
Purchase ad-free UI with Mags - the equivalent of USD 2.50 for 30 days;
Refer three friends - invite others to Magma and if they become active users, ads will be removed.
Ad Blockers
Many user might have ad blockers enabled in their browsers. To help support our team and the ongoing development of the platform, we kindly ask you to disable these.
Using an ad blocker might trigger a splash screen or popup kindly asking you to disable these to support our team and the ongoing development of the platform.
We've added instruction that covers most popular ad blockers on computer. If you still encounter this pop-up after disabling your ad blocker please try the following:
clear your bowser cache and refresh your page;
check if your browser has a built-in ad blocker enabled;
use an alternate browser or browser profile strictly for Magma;

Unfrotunately, some software used on school devices may prevent disabling of ad blockers.
Ads Privacy
Different regions have different rules around ads and privacy. Depending on where you are in the world, you'll see a different setting in the Privacy tab of your Account settings.

It's important that you are still able to draw smoothly while ads play or cycle in your editor. If you notice a significant drop in performance, please reach out to us.Ads content
We have worked with our ads provider to prevent inappropriate ads from being displayed for our users as best we can. These include things like filtering out gambling, alcohol, or sexual content. Unfortunately, some might still get through. If you encounter any, please capture it with a screenshot and send it to us at [email protected] so that we can address it.
