To empower creators who spend a lot of time on the platform creating awesome things and hosting engaging jams, and to help others support the artists they love, Magma is introducing various Creator Economy features. This first of this is the ability to tip creators with our in-app tokens which they'll soon be able to cash out for real money.
Mags - Magma tokens
Mags are the in-app token for Magma which can be used as a gift to creators, challenge them, or even to commission them to make art for you.
The chat box on the canvas is the main place that you’ll be engaging with this feature for now. You’ll see a new Mags amount button at the top of your chat window.
How to buy Mags
To purchase Mags, tap on the token button in your chat window.
This will open a new section with different amounts listed. The current base value is 100 Mags for 1 USD. When you purchase more, at certain amounts you can get them at a reduced rate. Blaze subscribers get a discounted rate on Mags as well.
Tapping on the blue dollar amount button will take to you the checkout page for purchasing. After completing the purchase, you’ll see the updated value at the top of your chat window.

How to gift Mags to others
If you like the work another artist is doing or how they are managing their Art Jam, you can gift them Mags to show your appreciation. To do this:
1. Open the chat window;
2. Tap the gift icon at the bottom of the chat box;
3. Choose the creator to gift. Tap on Change to select a different user. You can search using their display name or username;
4. Choose one of the available reward amounts or set a custom amount to gift;
5. Add your message;
6. Tap the Gift button at the bottom to complete and send the message.
Gift messages are highlighted with extra flair than regular messages so that you don’t miss them.
Creator Dashboard
You Creator Dashboard will contain valuable information about your Following and Tip Rewards activity, the time you’re spending on canvases, and about which canvases have earned your more rewards.
You can access your Creator Dashboard by tapping on your user menu in the top right by tapping on your avatar.
The first thing you will see is your current earnings of Mags. This will only display Mags that you have received from others and not Mags that you have purchased.
Withdrawing your Mags
Once you’ve accumulated enough Mags, you can request a payout. The process is simple — and you can manage everything from your Creator Dashboard.
Checking Your Mags Balance
To see how many Mags you've earned, visit your creator dashboard. Here's what you'll find there:
Total Earned Mags: This is the amount you've earned and are eligible to withdraw once you meet the minimum threshold
Pending Payouts: Mags that are awaiting processing before they can be withdrawn
Total Withdrawn: The total amount you've already cashed out
Ineligible Mags: These are Mags that do not count toward your withdrawal total— typically these are Mags that you bought yourself rather than earned or received through various activities
Minimum Withdrawals
To request a payout, you must reach a minimum that is displayed in the application Once you reach the threshold, a withdrawal button will appear on your dashboard, enabling you to initiate the payout.
Withdrawal Frequency
Withdrawals are allowed once a month, so plan accordingly. It’s a good idea to let your Mags accumulate if you're not close to the payout threshold.
Payout Process
Payouts are processed as compensation for engagement and community services, which you provided when receiving Mags — this may include content creation, participation, feedback, or other platform contributions.
We partner with a secure third-party payment provider to handle all payouts. To receive your payment, you’ll be asked to:
Provide personal identification details, such as your name, date of birth, and address
Submit any required tax information, depending on your country of residence
If you're under 18 years old, you will need to involve a parent or legal guardian in the process. They may need to complete the registration or provide consent, depending on local regulations and the provider's requirements.
Ineligible Mags
In your dashboard, you might also notice a count of ineligible Mags. These do not contribute to your payout balance. Only “Earned Mags” (those received from other users or through Magma-approved activities) qualify for cash redemption.
Check the platform’s help center or support team if you believe any ineligible Mags were marked incorrectly.
Activity and rewards
The next section shows the latest activity for new followers and tip rewards. You can switch between these two tabs.
In the Tip Rewards tab, you can select which reward tiers are available from the default collection or create your own. A default set will be active but you can chage these.
Adding your own custom reward
Instead of using the default rewards, you can set up your own that resonates with your brand or community, or that has fun challenges for you to do while livestreaming your session.
You can set a name, custom amount, and add your own icons.
Analytics
In the Analytics session you can see some information about where people have been most active and engaged. This can be set to monthly, weekly, or daily and gives you a few different metrics:
Total received: Mags earned during this period;
Total viewer time: Total time spent by users on your canvases during that time;
Avg. viewer duration: average amount of time spent on your drawings;
Users reached: number of unique joiners;
New followers: number of followers gain from your canvases and Art Jams.
When you hover on the bars in the graph, you’ll get some additional info.
Top drawings
Under Top Drawings you'll be able to see which drawings performed well for you based on time spent, average time, tips, etc.
Top tippers and viewers
The final section shows you who your most dedicated viewers and appreciative tippers are.
