The Multiboard allows you have multiple active canvases placed around one another in place of the Sequence Panel of linked individual drawings.
Multiboards have their own unique indicator in the top left of the thumbnail to separate them from regular canvases in your dashboard.
IMPORTANT: When joining a Multiboard, you cannot draw right away. First tap on a board and then the blue Edit button. A brush icon should appear in the top left of it to tell you that you are connected to that board and can start drawing.
How to create a multiboard
To create a multiboard, you need to specifically choose that option for you new canvas in the Custom Drawing modal.
First open the dropdown for creating a new canvas;
Then select Multiboard
OR
Custom drawing to one with custom dimensions;
Change Type to Multiboard and then Create;
When the new page loads, you will land on what looks pretty much like a regular canvas. However, you are not yet active on this canvas. To start drawing, you will need to tap the blue Edit button.
You will know that you are connected to a board by the brush icon in the top left corner of it.
Switching between boards
To easily switch between boards, while you have your brush selected, you can simply click on a different board. You will know if you have a board selected by the paintbrush in the top left corner of it and the canvas name being white rather than grey.
Multiboard management
In order to manage other canvases on the multiboard and add new ones, you will first need to go back to multiboard mode. Do this by tapping the multiboard icon at the top of the screen. You will notice a change in the UI and that the brush icon next to the canvas title disappears indicating that you have disconencted from it.
Adding new boards
You can have an infinite number of canvases on your multiboard. To add a new one, there are a few different options. First you need to disconnect from your current canvas by tapping on the multiboard icon
Then:
Switch to the Add board tool;
Then click and drag in an empty area to create the board
OR
In multiboard view, select one of the boards and tap on one of the round + buttons that appear next to it
OR
In multiboard view, tap on the New Layer button in the Layers panel or use the Add Layer shortcut. This will open a Create Custom Drawing modal for you to set the size and other characteristics.
OR
Lastly, you can also right-click or long-press in the empty area around a board. This opens a menu with an add board option.
Removing boards
To remove boards, you can deselect the current board and then
Deselect your current board;
Select the move tool;
right-click and select Delete board
OR
if on iPad, press and hold on the board with pen
and select Delete board
When active on a drawing, do not use the Move to bin action in the file menu. (there be bugs)
Moving multible boards
In multiboard view, select your Move tool. Then you can click in the empty area and drag over multiple drawings to select them. Then click and drag again to move the selcted items.
Multiboard permissions
You can limit who can add, move, or delte boards by adjusting the Edit Multiboard setting in your Admin menu.
As with the Sequence Panel, the permissions are set globally and you cannot have different permissions per board in the Multiboard.
Adding references and other images
On computer, you can easily add multiple image files to the board by dragging and dropping them. The boards will be imported directly next to each other.
The difference between cropping and scaling
If you want to make your canvas bigger, you have to follow the same flow as you normally would with a single canvas. Use either the Drawing settings or the Crop tool.
If you resize by dragging the blue boxes when you have the move tool selected, this will scale the canvas, making the pixels bigger and not change the actual drawing resolution. This means you can have two drawings that appear to be the same size on the board, but when drawing with the same size brush, the strokes will be different sizes.

When you scale a board, an indicator appears with information about the scale percentage and degree of rotation.
Renaming a canvas on the multiboard
To rename a board, first go back to multiboard view by tapping icon below the top bar. Select the board that you want to rename, and tap the three dots in the floating bar that appears. You'll find the rename option here:
Inviting others to your multiboard
You can invite others to join your multiboard in the same way that you would a regular canvas or sequence. Copy the URL or use the Share button in the top right of your user interface.
Once others join, you’ll be able to chat and call no matter which canvas of the board you are on.
Comment tool
When using the Comment tool, if you are connected to a board, the relative location of the pin for it is tied to that canvas. So, if you move the canvas around, the comment pins will move with it.
If you create a comment while not connected to a board, the pin will remain in that position unless you choose to move it.
Multiboard Art Jams
It's also possible to host Multiboard Art Jams. This can be a great alternative to expanding a single canvas which might cause lag for many users. Users will be able to spread out across multiple standard-sized canvases reducing the chance of lag.
To create a multiboard Art Jam, look for the option in the creation modal.
